German Cheese Buns Recipe
Ingredients:
- 250ml milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar (or vanilla extract)
- 7g active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 50ml vegetable oil
- 1 egg, separated
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Butter, for greasing baking sheet
For the Filling:
- 200g cheese (such as Gouda or Emmental), grated
For Egg Wash:
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 egg yolk
For the Cream Sauce:
- 100g soft cheese (cream cheese or quark)
- 2 tbsp condensed milk
