A recipe forgotten by many from the 70s. This is how my grandmother used to cook. Whip milk with vinegar and get this masterpiece

German Cheese Buns Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250ml milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar (or vanilla extract)
  • 7g active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 50ml vegetable oil
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Butter, for greasing baking sheet

For the Filling:

  • 200g cheese (such as Gouda or Emmental), grated

For Egg Wash:

  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 egg yolk

For the Cream Sauce:

  • 100g soft cheese (cream cheese or quark)
  • 2 tbsp condensed milk
