Homemade Meatloaf

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Oats:
In a large bowl, combine the oats and milk. Stir to coat the oats and let them sit for about 15 minutes to soak up the milk.
  2. Mix the Meatloaf:
After the oats have soaked, add the ground beef, eggs, onion soup mix, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and pepper. Using your hands, mix the ingredients together, working the oats into the meat.
  3. Form the Meatloaf:
Once everything is well mixed, transfer the meat mixture into a 9×9 baking pan. Shape it into a loaf that’s about 1 3/4 inches thick.
  4. Bake:
Place the meatloaf in a 375°F oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Prepare the Topping:
While the meatloaf is baking, whisk together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a small bowl.
  6. Add the Topping:
After 30 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and brush the topping over the loaf, making sure to coat the sides as well. Return it to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Let it Rest:
Once done, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before slicing.

Enjoy!
