So amazing! This was a staple at our Thanksgiving dinner but we also ate it all year round! That good!

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the cream mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy whipping cream, salt, pepper, minced garlic (if using), and fresh thyme (if using). Mix until everything is well combined.
  3. Layer the potatoes: Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish generously to prevent sticking. Arrange the thinly sliced potatoes evenly in layers within the casserole dish.
  4. Pour the cream mixture: Pour the cream mixture over the potato layers, making sure the cream is evenly distributed.
  5. Bake: Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for about 45 minutes. The potatoes should be tender, and the top should be lightly browned and bubbly.
  6. Cool: Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

  • For a complete meal: Pair scalloped potatoes with roasted chicken, beef tenderloin, or a pork roast.
  • Vegetarian option: Serve with baked tofu, a mushroom and spinach quiche, or roasted vegetables for a hearty meal.
  • On the side: Fresh, crisp garden salads or steamed vegetables complement the creamy potatoes perfectly.
