Southern Chocolate Cobbler

Preheat Your Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Batter:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until a smooth batter forms.

Pour into Baking Dish:

Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Do not stir.

Add the Topping:

In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and hot water together until combined. Carefully pour this mixture over the batter in the baking dish. Again, do not stir.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is set and the chocolate layer is bubbling.

Serve:
