This is a ‘never fail’ recipe passed down for generations in my family, and I swear by it every time I need my fix

Instructions:

  1. Mix the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients—flour, egg, baking powder, salt, and milk. Stir well until smooth.
  2. Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it for about 1-2 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Shape the dumplings: Roll the dough out to about ¼ inch thickness and cut into small squares or your desired shape.
  4. Cook the dumplings: Drop the dumplings carefully into your simmering stew, soup, or casserole, making sure they are fully submerged. Cover the pot and let them cook for 15-20 minutes, or until they are light and fluffy.
  5. Serve: Ladle the dumplings over your favorite stew or soup, and enjoy the comforting texture and taste.

Tip:

These dumplings are versatile! They’re perfect for a variety of dishes, including chicken soup, beef stew, or a creamy chicken and vegetable casserol
