This recipe is a MUST around the holidays, but I make it all year long

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Step 2: Make the Salted Caramel Sauce

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of granulated sugar, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  • Once melted, add the 1/2 cup of cubed butter, and stir until completely incorporated.
  • Slowly pour in 1/4 cup heavy cream, stirring continuously.
  • Let the mixture come to a boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Set the sauce aside.

Step 3: Arrange the Crackers

  • Lay the saltine crackers in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet, covering the entire surface.

Step 4: Pour the Caramel Sauce

  • Pour the warm salted caramel sauce evenly over the crackers, making sure they are fully covered.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake the crackers in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly and the crackers are golden brown around the edges.

Step 6: Add the Chocolate

  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Sprinkle 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips over the hot caramel and let them sit for a few minutes to melt.

Step 7: Spread the Chocolate

  • Once the chocolate has softened, use a spatula to spread it evenly over the crackers.

Step 8: Add the Finishing Touch

  • Sprinkle the melted chocolate with 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt to balance the sweetness with a hint of saltiness.

Step 9: Cool

  • Let the crackers cool completely on the baking sheet before breaking them into bite-sized pieces.

Enjoy!

Now that they’re cooled, dig into your delicious Salted Caramel Cracker Bites! These treats are perfect for gifting, parties, or as a special snack to enjoy any time of the year.

Tips:

  • Adjust the Salt: If you prefer a more pronounced salty-sweet contrast, feel free to add a bit more sea salt.
  • Chocolate Variations: Swap semisweet chocolate for dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or even white chocolate for a different twist.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to a week — if they last that long!

Enjoy these easy-to-make bites that will have everyone coming back for more!
