Soviet-Style Pies Recipe

Dough Ingredients:

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 250ml warm water
  • 7g active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 50g butter, softened

Chicken Filling:

  • 1 boiled chicken breast, finely minced or ground
  • 1 onion, finely chopped and fried until soft
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Potato Filling:

  • 4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped and fried until soft
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: a small amount of butter for added richness

Cabbage Filling:

  • 1/2 head of cabbage, finely shredded and stewed until soft
  • 1 onion, finely chopped and fried until soft
  • Salt, pepper, and optionally grated carrots for sweetness
