Traditional Irish beef stew

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the stewed meat and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the meat from the pan and set it aside.
Step 2 – Add the chopped onions and garlic to the same pan. Cook until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
Step 3: Return the browned meat to the pot, along with any accumulated juices. Sprinkle the flour over the meat and vegetables, tossing to coat them evenly.
Step 4: Add the beef broth, Guinness stout (if using), tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce and bay leaves to the pot. Stir well to combine.
Step 5: Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and the flavors have blended together.
Step 6: Add the sliced ​​carrots and diced potatoes to the pot. Continue to simmer, uncovered, for an addition
nal 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
7th step: season the stew with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
Step 8: Ladle traditional Irish beef stew into bowls and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve the stew piping hot, accompanied by crusty bread or buttery mashed potatoes for a truly comforting meal.
