Transformed simple rubber flip-flops into fashionable shoes for spring and summer

We fold two identical parts with the right side inward, stitch them together, leaving a small area open so that the workpiece can be turned inside out.

After turning it inside out, we lay a finishing stitch along the contour, covering the area that we did not sew at the previous stage.

After chipping the workpiece, we try it on with pins, marking the place for connecting the top and side parts.

We sew the parts together, trim off any excess and finish the edge.

Stepping back about a centimeter along the bottom of the workpiece, we lay a line, marking in advance the place where the fabric will be connected to the sole.

We pin the denim piece to the sole with basting needles.

At the next stage we will connect everything. Take silk threads, it is better that they are thick and strong.

With the first stitch we make a loop through which the thread passes, after which the needle and thread pass into the sole and are brought out again into the loop.

The pitch between stitches is about 5 mm.

The result is a strong, decorative connection between the top and sole.

For summer shoes, I cut out insoles using soft felt and denim.

I got slip-ons that are as comfortable as rubber slippers, but they look much neater and more elegant.
