When baking, the dough turns into cream. The most tender and melt-in-your-mouth pie “Invisible”.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated with the mixture.
  3. Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it into a 9-inch pie dish, letting the excess hang over the edges. Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture, spreading it evenly.
  4. Dot the top of the apples with pieces of butter.
  5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apples. Trim any excess crust from the edges, then crimp the edges of the pie to seal it. You can also use a fork to press the edges together.
  6. Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking.
  7. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining tablespoon of granulated sugar.
  8. Place the pie on a baking sheet (to catch any drips) and bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before serving.
  10. Serve slices of the apple pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
