If you look at these compartments, you will see that they are labeled. Numbers are written on the outermost ones, and a snowflake is drawn in the middle. However, this order may be different in different brands of washing machines.
On my machine, the compartments on the edges are numbered with Roman numerals, and the middle one is marked with a snowflake.
The compartment with the Roman numeral I, Arabic 1 or the letter “A” is needed for the powder that will be used in the pre-wash. There is no need to add detergents here if the regime does not include soaking.
