My garlic stays in my apartment until the next harvest and doesn’t rot: I’ll share a trick on how I store it

Without a cellar, we were faced with the task of preserving a large harvest of garlic from the dacha. To prevent it from withering, drying out and sprouting, we have found a simple and effective method.

Place ripe, well-dried and peeled garlic in a regular ceramic pot with a lid. Before doing this, wash the pot thoroughly with soda and dry it. Place the garlic tightly, cover with a lid, leaving it slightly ajar, and place it on the top shelf of the kitchen cabinet. Periodically, once or twice during the winter, we check the garlic. This way it lasts all year.

Advantages of storing in a ceramic pot:

Ceramic walls protect garlic from direct sunlight, preventing its germination;

Ceramics create an optimal microclimate inside, thanks to which the garlic remains fresh for a long time, preserving its taste and beneficial properties;
