They gave me an old scary nightstand. And I made it a source of pride: photo

As a designer, I once found myself in a house with almost a hundred years of history. The owners had an old bedside table, battered by life, which they planned to throw away.

I couldn’t pass by the rarity and instead of throwing it in the trash, the cabinet went into my car. When my husband saw the bedside table, he was sure that the best thing to do with it was to throw it away, but from my look he realized that I would not agree to such an idea.

I started transforming old furniture with sanding. When the old varnish was removed, the oak underneath was revealed with a beautiful natural grain.

The doors and side parts were made of plywood, I decided to work on them so that after the transformation the furniture would better fit the interior.

I added rattan mesh over the doors, and covered the tabletop with veneer, leaving the original oak slats on the sides.
